John Cowper Powys

Novelista, ensayista y poeta inglés



Nació el 8 de octubre de 1872 en Shirley, Derbyshire (Gran Bretaña).

Cursó estudios en el Corpus Christi College de Cambridge y posteriormente ejerció como profesor durante cuarenta años.

Además de poesía, Odas y otros poemas (1896), y ensayos, Opiniones provisionales (1915), escribió novelas como El lobo Solent (1929), Una aventura en Glastonbury (1933) y Owen Glendower (1941). Sus libros de crítica literaria incluyen Dostoievski (1947) y Rabelais (1948).

John Cowper Powys falleció en Blaenau Ffestiniog (Gales), el 16 de junio de 1963.
